July 12-13, 2024. NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – SEVEN RILA LAKES - BOROVEC
ROUTE LENGTH: 10km

DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM
Departing on July 12 from NOVI SAD and BELGRADE in the evening (exact time and place will be announced a few days before the trip), we'll take an easy drive to Bulgaria.
In the early morning hours, we arrive at Mount Rila, the tallest among the Balkan beauties, known for its numerous glacial lakes. We are set for a hike along one of its most attractive trails during which we'll visit the famous 7 lakes. This trail holds spiritual significance for the locals and is a gathering place in the summer where many people perform a communal dance to align their energy with the rhythms of nature; we too will try to gather energy and invoke good weather so the next day's climb goes smoothly.
Feeling satisfied and intoxicated by the beauty of nature, we will go to our accommodation for some well-deserved rest.
July 14-15, 2024. BOROVEC – JASTREBAC CABLE CAR – CLIMB TO MUSALA (2925m above sea level) – BELGRADE – NOVI SAD
ROUTE LENGTH: 14km
ELEVATION GAIN: 770m
DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM-CHALLENGING
In the early morning hours, we head to the cable car which will shorten our path, leaving us at Jastrebac at an altitude of over 2300m, after which we ascend to the highest peak of the Balkans!
Again several magical lakes, all the charms of highland terrain, fresh air, wild herbs growing in the rock crevices, and again a view that rests the eyes. Step by step and here we are at Musala! Along a beautiful path, without risky sections...
Then, it's back down to reinforce what we've learned, a break in Borovets for lunch and to gather our impressions, then leisurely back to Serbia where we plan to arrive in the early morning hours of the next day.
