MAJESTIC MAKARSKA & BIOKOVO DATE: 17.04.2025 - 22.04.2025

Makarska, Dalmatia... Just the mention of these words sparks the imagination. Few things are as refreshing as a spring hike along the sea, accompanied by the familiar scent of pine trees basking in the sun. To make it even better, we’ll sprinkle in a few waterfalls and lakes, and our adventure is set!

TRAVEL PROGRAM:

17-18.04.2025. NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – BUNSKI KANAL – POČITELJ – PARK-FOREST OSEJAVA

DISTANCE: 8km ELEVATION GAIN: 200m DIFFICULTY: EASY

Departure from BELGRADE at approximately 8 PM from the parking lot of Sava Center. From Novi Sad at 9:15 PM from the ATP Vojvodina tourist terminal. Exact departure times will be confirmed one day before departure by the agency. We continue our journey towards Makarska, with a stop for rest and border formalities.

In the morning, we arrive at the confluence of the Neretva and Buna rivers, where the famous BUNSKI KANAL forms—an enchanting site where dozens of waterfalls cascade over rocks, creating a stunning natural spectacle.

Next, we take a short ride to POČITELJ, a historic town that has guarded the entrance to the lower Neretva since the Middle Ages. Its narrow stone alleys and medieval fortress captivate all visitors.

Our journey continues to Makarska, where we take a leisurely hike through the PARK-FOREST OSEJAVA. This scenic trail follows rugged cliffs that plunge dramatically into the deep blue Adriatic. We’ll enjoy stunning views of the Makarska Riviera, visit hidden coves, and relax in the warm spring sun.

After the hike, we check into our accommodation and enjoy a well-earned rest.

19.04.2025. MAKARSKA – BRELA – NEVISTINA STINA – PL SHELTER PAKLINE – BIOKOVO EYE – FRENCH ROAD – PUNTA RATA BEACH (OPTIONAL)

DISTANCE: 12km ELEVATION GAIN: 850m DIFFICULTY: CHALLENGING

In the morning, we drive to the village of BRELA, the starting point of our spectacular Biokovo National Park hike. This route offers breathtaking sea and mountain views, passes by old stone churches, and includes the famous Biokovo Eye, a natural rock arch with a view of the sea.

We’ll also walk along the historic French Road, built during the Napoleonic era. Finally, we finish our hike at Punta Rata Beach, where we can relax and enjoy the refreshing Adriatic waters.

20.04.2025. MAKARSKA – OMIŠ – OLD TOWN (FORTICA) – SHRINE OF ST. LEOPOLD MANDIĆ – VIDLICA VIEWPOINT (OPTIONAL)

DISTANCE: 10km ELEVATION GAIN: 550m DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

We head to OMIŠ, a picturesque town at the mouth of the Cetina River, nestled between towering cliffs. Our hike takes us to the Old Fort (Fortica), perched 250m above sea level, offering panoramic views of the river and the Adriatic.

After descending to sea level, we continue to Vidlica Viewpoint, known for its stunning vistas of the Cetina Canyon.

21-22.04.2025. MAKARSKA – BLUE & RED LAKE – KRAVICA WATERFALL – BELGRADE – NOVI SAD

DISTANCE: 8km ELEVATION GAIN: 200m DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

In the morning, we pack our belongings and drive to the village of Imotski, home to two unique natural wonders:

• Blue Lake, located in a 100m-deep sinkhole with a walkable trail leading to the water.
• Red Lake, a surreal karst formation with 200m-high vertical cliffs. Despite many attempts, divers have been unable to determine its full depth.

Next, we visit the spectacular Kravica Waterfalls, where we can enjoy the crystal-clear water and take a break before our return journey to Serbia.

• High-deck tourist bus transport (without onboard restroom)
• Licensed mountain guide
• 3 nights in apartments in Makarska (Ana Apartments, Villa Flamingo, and Mila Apartments, offering various room capacities)

• Biokovo Hike (19.04.) – 20 EUR per person (optional)
• Omiš Hike (20.04.) – 20 EUR per person (optional, includes fortress entrance)
• Kravica Waterfall entrance fee – approx. 10-11 EUR
• Travel health insurance (recommended, with coverage up to 30,000 EUR)
• Other personal expenses

• 50 EUR upon reservation
• Remaining 100 EUR to be paid at least 10 days before departure
• Payments are made in Serbian dinars at the NBS middle exchange rate

• Comfortable hiking shoes
• Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
• Extra warm and dry clothing
• Swimwear, towel, and flip-flops

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• The organizers reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances.
• Registrations require full names, contact details, and departure locations.
• Once registered and paid, cancellations are non-refundable, but participant substitution is allowed.
• Only members of the HTS Mountaineering Club (MB: 28748817) or any PSS-affiliated club can participate.
• Travel insurance against insolvency is provided by Triglav Insurance, Policy No. 470000062352.
• This trip is not recommended for individuals with heart or other serious health conditions.
• Punctuality is essential for departures, but hiking schedules may be flexible.
• Participants must adhere to group travel norms; seat assignments in the bus are based on payment order, with priority given to specific categories (elderly, pregnant women, families with children, etc.).
