WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?
Makarska, Dalmatia... The mere mention of these words ignites the imagination... Few things are as pleasing to the body as a spring hike along the seaside with the familiar scent of pine trees in the sun... Add a sprinkle of waterfalls and ponds, and the May Day special is ready!

WHAT'S THE PROGRAM?
April 30-May 1, 2024: NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – BUNSKI KANAL – POČITELJ – PARK–ŠUMA OSEJAVA
ROUTE LENGTH: 8km
ELEVATION DIFFERENCE: 200m
DIFFICULTY: EASY
Departure on April 30, 2024, from NOVI SAD around 20:30 and from BELGRADE around 21:45. Arrive at the location at least 10 minutes before departure. Travel to MAKARSKA with the possibility of picking up additional passengers at stops.
In the morning, we arrive at the confluence of the Neretva and Buna rivers, forming the famous BUNSKI KANAL, where dozens of waterfalls cascade over rocks, creating a beautiful play of water and stone. We continue a bit further, taking a morning break in the picturesque POČITELJ, which has preserved its entrance to the lower Neretva since the Middle Ages.
Next is the journey to Makarska and a leisurely hedonistic hike through the PARK-ŠUMA OSEJAVA. We'll have the opportunity to admire the rugged cliffs that dramatically enter the blue Adriatic. Several spots offer stunning views of the famous Makarska Riviera. A hike wouldn't be complete without visiting a few wild coves and beaches to rest our feet and contemplate in the lovely May sun.
After the hike, we head to accommodation for a well-deserved rest for the rest of the day...
May 2, 2024: MAKARSKA – BRELA – NEVISTINA STINA – PL SKLONIŠTE PAKLINE – BIOKOVSKO OKO – FRANCUSKA CESTA – PLAŽA PUNTA RATA (OPTIONAL)
ROUTE LENGTH: 12km
ELEVATION DIFFERENCE: 850m
DIFFICULTY: DEMANDING
In the morning, we travel to the village of BRELA, where this magnificent hike through Biokovo National Park begins. We'll make an ultimate circuit with inspiring viewpoints of the sea and Dinaric Alps. Passing by a couple of mountain stone churches built in interesting locations, a glimpse of Biokovsko Oko, a small natural arch with a view of the sea, and walking the path the French once carved. Finally, we end up on the beach, tired but full of impressions.
After visiting these wonderful locations, we slowly return to accommodation.
May 3, 2024: MAKARSKA – OMIŠ – STARI GRAD (FORTICA) – SVETIŠTE SV. LEOPOLDA MANDIĆA – VIDIKOVAC VIDLICA
ROUTE LENGTH: 10km
ELEVATION DIFFERENCE: 550M
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
In the morning, we drive to OMIŠ, a town located at the point where the Cetina River flows into the Adriatic Sea, with mountains creating a natural gate hundreds of meters high. This "gate" was an ideal location for building a fortress since ancient times. Our plan is to hike to the upper fortress, 250 meters above sea level, to enjoy the view of the surroundings and imagine how locals felt waiting for conquering ships. Then we descend to sea level again and head to VIDIKOVAC VIDLICA, offering the best view of the Cetina canyon!
After the hike, there's some time to enjoy Omiš before returning to accommodation.
May 4-5, 2024: MAKARSKA – MODRO I CRVENO JEZERO – VODOPAD KRAVICA - BELGRADE - NOVI SAD
ROUTE LENGTH: 8km
ELEVATION DIFFERENCE: 200m
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
In the morning, we pack our things and drive to the village of Imotski, where nature has prepared a unique treat for us. We'll do a circular hike around two clear lakes in exceptionally inaccessible locations. First, the so-called MODRO lake is easier to reach as it is located in a 100-meter-deep pit with a path leading to it, while the second, CRVENO lake, is an unreal phenomenon in a 200-meter-deep pit surrounded by vertical cliffs. It is believed to have once been an underground lake, but the cave's roof collapsed, creating this natural spectacle. Professional divers have been trying for years to estimate the depth of this lake, but unfortunately, none have succeeded.
We then have a short drive to the KRAVICA WATERFALL, where we'll enjoy the clear rushing water and take a lunch break before returning to BELGRADE AND NOVI SAD early in the morning.
