WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?

Since hiking is not just recreation but also a space for socializing, exchanging thoughts, and new ideas, this time we've decided to awaken our creative side and join forces with our dear hiker, Ivana, to create something new! Ivana Pilipović (Instagram: slikaj_sa_ivanom) is a young artist from Novi Sad who has already organized numerous interesting workshops for beginners and experienced individuals. She has decided to show us how to channel our creativity! And we... we'll try to gather as much inspiration during the walk to be ready for it!

WHAT'S THE PROGRAM?

POPOVICA TURNING POINT - EAGLE'S BATTLEFIELD - PERA'S CAVE - POPOVICA LAKE - POPOVICA TURNING POINT - PAINTING WORKSHOP WITH IVANA

ROUTE LENGTH: 5km

ELEVATION GAIN: 200M

DIFFICULTY: EASY

On March 23, 2024, at 10 am, we'll meet at the TURNING POINT in POPOVICA (Exact location: CLICK HERE). Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. Arrive by your own transportation; if someone doesn't have it, we might have a few available seats to arrange something.

We'll start the walk with a gentle ascent, reaching the first attraction, the viewpoint over one of the many quarries of Fruška Gora - EAGLE'S BATTLEFIELD. From here, there's an excellent view of the TV tower and green forests, and it's possible to spot an eagle in the air, considering they often nest on almost vertical cliffs of the quarry.

After this, we'll continue mostly on flat terrain with slight fluctuations to PERA'S CAVE, the deepest cave of Fruška Gora, associated with many legends, one of which even mentions the hidden treasure of a forgotten Dutchman!

From here, the trail descends to the small and cozy POPOVICA LAKE, where we'll take the final break during the walk.

After finishing, we'll move to one of the nearby establishments, where inspired by the flapping of eagle wings and the dense untouched nature, we'll have the opportunity to transfer onto canvas what we just witnessed. Of course, with the expert guidance of our dear Ivana!

WHAT DO WE USUALLY BRING FOR HIKING?

• Smile, good mood, and good health.
• Plenty of water, a minimum of 2L per walk, snacks in the backpack for multiple meals, refreshments for ascents and walks.
• Comfortable and sturdy, suitable footwear for walks in nature, comfortable clothing.
• If you already have a favorite walking stick, bring it. If not, nature might hide your new favorite.
• Cap/hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, whatever you think would protect you in case of strong sun.
• Raincoat, spare/change of clothes, a warm and dry change readily available after each walk.

IMPORTANT NOTES!!!

• The number of registrations will be limited, and the right to attend the trip is EXCLUSIVELY reserved for members of the HTS MOUNTAINEERING SOCIETY (Contact us for details regarding membership and purchasing stamps for the year 2024) or any mountaineering society within PSS, as well as members of the EKOTOPIA association.
• As part of the fee, participants receive participation in the painting workshop with Ivana (suitable for all regardless of previous experience), canvas, paints, brushes, and other painting equipment, guidance, and overall organization.
• Organizers reserve the right to change the program due to unforeseen circumstances, inability to access certain sections, or even trip cancellation.
• Please provide the number of people, their names, phone numbers, and the departure location during registration, along with confirmation of membership in our organization. After registration and payment, refunds are not possible, but potential replacements for registered individuals are allowed.
• The tour is NOT RECOMMENDED for individuals with heart or any other conditions that physical activity could adversely affect.
• Please be precise and punctual regarding the departure time, but on the other hand, let's not adhere too strictly to the duration schedule of the walk.
