WHAT ARE WE VISITING?

ZMAJEVAC VIEWPOINT - VRDNIK TOWER - BABIN GUZ SPRING - BRANKOVAC - ZMAJEVAC VIEWPOINT

WHEN ARE WE STARTING?

GATHERING AND DEPARTURE WILL BE FROM ZMAJEVAC VIEWPOINT ON SUNDAY, MARCH 10TH, AT 09:00 AM.

EXACT LOCATION OF THE STARTING POINT: Zmajevac viewpoint

WHAT IS THE WALKING ITINERARY?

Since the gathering is at Zmajevac Viewpoint, right from the start, we will have the opportunity to see our first point of interest from a distance, the seemingly unconquerable VRDNIK TOWER. Most of the trail leads us on a gentle descent through dense forest towards the tower, with a final ascent to the hill where the tower is located.

Soon after enjoying the view from the tower and taking a short break, we continue with the descent to the BABIN GUZ SPRING and the Dubočaš stream. From the spring, we follow the stream and enjoy the surreal forest, passing by a wildlife feeding spot.

After some time, we separate from the stream and start the ascent to the beautiful BRANKOVAC VIEWPOINT, which offers an excellent view of Beočin, and on clear days, even Novi Sad can be seen.

We have a final easy stretch along a forest path beside the Partisan Road, leading us back to the starting point.

HOW LONG DOES THE WALK LAST?

The total length of the walk is about 12 km, making it excellent for recreational hikers and beginners up for a challenge. We estimate that the walk will take 5 to 6 hours.

HOW TO GET TO THE STARTING POINT?

  • By personal transport from Novi Sad, pass through Sremska Kamenica and continue straight to the turnoff for Rakovac. After that, follow the road that leads you directly to Zmajevac Viewpoint.
  • For those without transportation or those willing to offer a ride for cost-sharing or simply to help someone, you can search for the Facebook group we named "Hajd na hajk," intended for all nature lovers for easier organization of hiking trips.
