WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?
Central Bosnia has always been a hospitable region, where good food is plentiful, coffee is enjoyed slowly, and guests are welcomed and seen off with a smile. This time, we have chosen Travnik as our base — the birthplace of Ivo Andrić and one of those places that carries the true spirit of the Balkans, shaped over centuries by different peoples and cultures coming together.
Our hikes this time include an ascent of Vlašić, a mountain that captivates and calls you in with its coniferous forests and endless meadows, as well as venturing deep into the wilderness in search of the hidden Kozice Waterfall...

Departure from Novi Sad and Belgrade on 27 November in the late evening hours. The exact departure time and location will be announced a few days before the trip. We then set off on a relaxed drive towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the early morning hours, we arrive at Pridolci Ski Resort, from where we begin our hike towards Kozice Waterfall.
The trail is pleasant and relatively easy. The forest is old and untouched, and the water is crystal clear. After the autumn rains, the waterfalls should be flowing at their fullest.
It will be a peaceful day surrounded by birdsong and fresh mountain air.
After completing the hike, we transfer to Travnik, a town famous as a place where cultures meet, creating a unique fusion of East and West.
The food is excellent — many people say that the ćevapi at Hari’s are even better than those in Sarajevo! The locals are friendly and cheerful, and once you sit down somewhere for a coffee or a meal, it can be surprisingly difficult to get back up.
We spend the night here and get ready for the next day's adventure.
(Ascent of Pavo and Paljenik) – BELGRADE – NOVI SAD
ROUTE LENGTH: 13 km
ELEVATION GAIN: 600 m
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
After checking out of our accommodation, we pack our belongings into the vehicle and set off on another adventure.
A short drive takes us to Galica, from where we begin our hike to the two most famous peaks of Vlašić Mountain.
At first, the trail takes us through coniferous forest and uphill terrain, until we emerge onto a huge grassy plateau. In the distance, rising from this vast meadow like a solitary watchtower, stands Paljenik, the highest peak of Vlašić.
Step by step, we cross the plateau and reach the summit, where we can enjoy breathtaking views stretching seemingly forever.
After taking some time to rest at the summit, we descend down the opposite side of the mountain and make our way back to the starting point.
Once the hike is over, we'll take a break for lunch and one more coffee before slowly heading back towards Belgrade and Novi Sad.
See you on the trail!
