WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?

We’ve realized that during the chilly days of January, the best way to warm up is with a mix of hiking and thermal spas. This time, we’ve organized an adventure that combines both! We’ll hike along the stunning Horvat’s Stairs, visit the charming Patuljak’s Cave, and relax in the thermal waters of Stubičke Toplice.

SLJEME TOUR

WHAT’S THE PROGRAM?

Route: BELGRADE – NOVI SAD – SLJEME – HORVAT’S STAIRS – PATULJAK’S CAVE – STUBIČKE TOPLICE

Distance: 12 km

Elevation difference: 800m (mostly descent)

Difficulty: Moderate

Departure: 17.01.2025 from Belgrade and Novi Sad (exact times and meeting points will be shared a few days prior).

We’ll travel to Sljeme, picking up passengers at designated stops along the way.

Upon arriving at Sljeme early in the morning, we’ll take a break for breakfast with a stunning view before starting the hike. Our descent will take us through a beautiful mixed forest of conifers and deciduous trees, offering breathtaking scenery.

Halfway through, we’ll encounter the highlight of the trail: Horvat’s Stairs. This stretch features 500 stone steps, meticulously built by mountaineer Vladimir Horvat over seven years to make this steep terrain accessible. Nearby, we’ll visit the delightful Patuljak’s Cave, surrounded by intriguing legends.

The hike will continue toward Stubičke Toplice, where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved dip in one of the local thermal spas. Refreshed and relaxed, we’ll head back to Novi Sad and Belgrade, arriving in the early hours of 19.01.

WHAT TO BRING FOR THE HIKE?

•A smile, positive energy, and good health.

•Plenty of water (minimum 2L per hike), snacks for multiple meals, and energy-boosting refreshments for climbs and hikes.

•Comfortable and sturdy hiking shoes, appropriate outdoor clothing.

•If you have a favorite hiking stick, bring it; if not, nature has plenty to offer.

•Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, or anything else to protect you from the sun.

•A raincoat, spare/dry clothes, and warm layers within easy reach after each hike.

IMPORTANT NOTES

•Registration is limited to members of PLANINARSKO DRUŠTVO HTS (Membership ID: 28748817) or any other hiking club within PSS. Contact us for membership details and information on purchasing the 2024 membership badge.

•Fee: RSD 3,600 (covers transport; paid to the organization’s account upon registration) and RSD 4,000 (collected during the trip for parking and toll expenses).

•The organizers reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, restricted access to certain areas, or even cancel the trip if necessary.

•Please provide the number of participants, their names, phone numbers, and departure points during registration. Once registered and payment is made, cancellations are not possible due to the proximity of the event, but substitutions are allowed.

•This trip does not include guarantees of travel protection as per Article 86, Paragraph 3 of the Tourism Act.

•The hike is not recommended for individuals with heart conditions or other health issues that could be affected by physical activity.

•Please be punctual for departure times, but flexible with the hiking schedule as group dynamics may vary.

•Bring only positive vibes, a cheerful spirit, and good humor. See you there!
