This time we are heading east, to areas that are less frequently visited. We will follow the course of the Danube, explore some of our most beautiful gorges, and visit the unique Rajač wine cellars. Additionally, we will cross briefly into Bulgaria to visit the famous Belogradčik Fortress and its surroundings, which resemble a mix of Arizona and Meteora…

WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?
07.02.2026 – NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – VRATNA GORGES – MOKRANJE ROCKS WATERFALL – RAJAČ WINE CELLARS
ROUTE LENGTH: 2 km + 2 km + 3 km
ELEVATION GAIN: 300 m
DIFFICULTY: EASY
Departure on 07.02. from NOVI SAD and BELGRADE in the early morning (exact time and meeting point will be announced a few days before the trip) and a relaxed drive to Vratna.
Our first stop will be Vratna Monastery, in whose courtyard two of the most beautiful gorges in the area are hidden, also known as the “Gates of Vratna.” This will be followed by a short, easy hike to admire this unique natural wonder.
Next, we continue our adventure to the village of Mokranje, known for the Mokranje Rocks Waterfall, where another gentle walk awaits us.
The last stop of the day will be the famous Rajač wine cellars, whose architecture represents a unique mix of France and Serbia. We will talk a little about their history while tasting some of the best local wines.
Afterward, we head to our accommodation for a well-deserved rest and continuation of the wine tasting.
08.02.2026 – BELOGRADČIK FORTRESS – BELGRADE – NOVI SAD
ROUTE LENGTH: 13 km
ELEVATION GAIN: 500 m
DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM
In the early morning, we check out from the accommodation, pack our things, and drive a short distance to the small town of Belogradčik.
Right from the start, we will face a fortress skillfully integrated with the surrounding rocks, looking so unreal that for a moment we might wonder if we’re in an episode of Game of Thrones or if this is reality… After a detailed tour of the fortress itself, we continue with a hike through a beautiful deciduous forest scattered with unique rock formations, stopping at a few viewpoints along the way. The highlight of the hike will be a visit to the Lepenica Cave, hidden far from casual passersby!
After the hike, we will have a lunch break and then a leisurely return to Serbia.
WHAT TO USUALLY BRING ON A HIKE?
A smile, good mood, and good health.
Plenty of water, at least 2L per walk, snacks, and energy for the hikes ahead.
Food, fruit, snacks, and sweets for breaks along the way.
Comfortable and sturdy footwear suitable for walking in nature.
If you already have your favorite hiking pole, bring it; if not, nature will help you discover a new favorite.
Hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, or anything you think will protect you from the sun.
Spare clothes, warm and dry change within reach after each walk.
Swimsuit, towel, slippers.

The number of participants is limited, and attendance is EXCLUSIVELY for members of the HTS MOUNTAINEERING SOCIETY (MB: 28748817) (contact us for details about membership and purchasing 2026 stickers) or any mountaineering society under PSS.
The fee of 10,500 RSD must be transferred to the association account upon registration.
The entrance fee for Belogradčik Fortress (3€) is not included in the fee.
Organizers reserve the right to change the program due to unforeseen circumstances, inaccessible sections, or even cancel the trip.
Please provide the number of participants, their full names, phone numbers, departure location, and confirmation of membership upon registration. Due to the proximity of the event, cancellation of transport and accommodation is not possible, though participant substitution is allowed.
No travel insurance is provided for this trip under Art. 86, para. 3 of the Tourism Law.
This tour is NOT recommended for people with heart conditions or any other health issues that could be negatively affected by physical activity.
Participants are requested to be PRECISE AND PUNCTUAL regarding departure times, but we will not strictly adhere to a fixed schedule for the hikes.
