WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?
Let's walk from Rakovac to Dumbovo through open fields and enjoy the view of the city... On our way back from Dumbovo to Rakovac, we will follow streams and dense forests, making it feel as if we have passed through the gates of paradise.

WHAT IS THE HIKING PLAN?
Our journey begins with a climb to ČARDAK hill, offering magical landscapes overlooking Novi Sad and the forested slopes of Fruška Gora.
We then descend towards DUMBOVO and enter untouched nature, following a stream that leads us to the breathtaking DUMBOVAČKI WATERFALL.
Next comes the ascent to a hill known as the GATES OF PARADISE. The beauty of this area speaks for itself through its name. The final stretch of the hike will immerse us in a stunning deciduous forest, and upon our return, all that remains is to take a deep breath and wonder—what must the real paradise be like?
HOW LONG DOES THE HIKE LAST?
The total hiking distance is approximately 10 km, making it perfect for beginners and recreational hikers. The estimated duration is 4 to 5 hours.
HOW TO REACH THE STARTING POINT?
- If coming by car from Novi Sad, drive through Sremska Kamenica, turn left at the traffic light in Rakovac, and after a few minutes, you will reach Rakovac Monastery on your left.
- For those without transportation or willing to offer a ride to share costs or simply help others, feel free to check out our Facebook group Hajd na hajk, which is designed for nature lovers to easily organize hiking trips.
WHAT TO BRING FOR THE HIKE?
- A smile, good vibes, and good health—masks and gloves are not required since we will be maintaining a safe distance in nature.
- At least 1 liter of water (or more).
- Comfortable and sturdy hiking shoes.
- Snacks, sandwiches, fruit, lunch—whatever you enjoy in nature, guilt-free.
- If you have a favorite hiking stick, bring it. If not, nature will provide you with a new favorite.
- A cap/hat, sunglasses, sunscreen—whatever you find necessary.
- A change of clothes/spare outfit.
IMPORTANT NOTES!!!
- Limited spots! Please send us a message with the number of participants you wish to register if you want to join us.
- The hike is free of charge. At the end of the trip, you will have the opportunity to support our guides through donations in any amount you think the hike was worth.
- Weather conditions usually do not affect our hikes. Only in case of extreme weather conditions will the trip be canceled. It’s up to you to decide whether the forecast suits you.
- This hike is NOT recommended for individuals with heart conditions or any other health issues that could be negatively affected by physical activity.
- Please be punctual! We kindly ask all participants to respect the departure time. However, the total duration of the hike may vary depending on the group.
