WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?
We’re heading out to another coastal gem. This time: Opatija and Učka National Park, with its magnificent forests and peaks offering fantastic views of the sea and the wild Adriatic coastline.
We’ll also add a touch of Risnjak National Park, with its mystical Devil’s Passage (Vražji prolaz) and all the cascades and waterfalls that come with it!

WHAT’S THE PROGRAM?
20–21.03.2026.
NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – ASCENT TO VOJAK (UČKA NP) – OPATIJA
ROUTE LENGTH: 10 km
ELEVATION GAIN: 500 m
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
Departure on 20.03. from NOVI SAD and BELGRADE late in the evening
(exact time and meeting point will be announced a few days before departure), followed by a relaxed drive to Croatia.
In the early morning hours, we arrive at a small place called Poklon and prepare for the ascent to Mount Vojak, perfectly positioned at the very beginning of the Istrian peninsula. From the summit, the view opens toward Opatija, Rijeka, and along the Adriatic coast!
We’ll enjoy the scent of salt in the air, sip coffee from our thermoses, and celebrate the arrival of spring.
After descending back to the starting point, we head to our accommodation for some well-earned rest and continued indulgence.

DEVIL’S PASSAGE & GREEN SPRING (RISNJAK NP) – BELGRADE – NOVI SAD

ELEVATION GAIN: 370 m
DIFFICULTY: MODERATE
Early in the morning, we check out of the accommodation, pack our things, and take a short drive to the small town of Skrad.
Here, we’ll hike through a fascinating canyon of the Jasle River, with nearly vertical cliffs and numerous bridges and crossings from one side of the river to the other. We’ll soak in the peace this place offers, surrounded by many cascades and small waterfalls—the most famous being Green Spring (Zeleni vir).
After the hike, we’ll take a lunch break and then begin our relaxed return to Serbia.
WHAT DO WE USUALLY BRING FOR HIKING?
- A smile, good vibes, and good health.
- Plenty of water, minimum 2 L per hike, snacks, and refreshments for the ascents and walks ahead.
- Food, fruit, snacks, sweets for breaks along the way.
- Comfortable, sturdy, and appropriate footwear for hiking in nature.
- If you already have your favorite trekking poles—bring them. If not, nature might be hiding your new favorite ones.
- Cap/hat, sunglasses, sunscreen—whatever you feel will protect you in case of strong sun.
- Spare/change of clothes, warm and dry layers easily accessible after each hike.
- Swimsuit, towel, flip-flops.

- The number of participants is limited. Participation is EXCLUSIVELY for members of the Hiking Association HTS
(Registration No: 28748817)

or any hiking club within the Mountaineering Association of Serbia (PSS).
- Participation fee: 14,000 RSD, paid to the association’s account upon registration.
- The participation fee does not include the entrance ticket for Belogradchik Fortress, priced at €3.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify the program due to unforeseen circumstances, inaccessible trail sections, or even cancel the trip.
- When registering, please send: the number of participants, their names, phone numbers, place of departure, and proof of membership in our organization.
Due to the proximity of the event, after registration and payment it will not be possible to cancel transportation and accommodation, and therefore no refund will be possible. However, replacing a registered participant will be allowed.
- This trip is not covered by travel guarantees in accordance with Article 86, Paragraph 3 of the Tourism Law.
- This tour is STRICTLY NOT recommended for persons with heart conditions or any other health issues that could be adversely affected by physical activity.
- Please be PRECISE AND PUNCTUAL regarding departure times, while at the same time not sticking too rigidly to the hiking schedule.
