Have you ever imagined yourself hiking along the Ligurian coast, surrounded by steep cliffs and vineyards, sipping a glass of wine or Aperol in one of the most picturesque Italian villages during breaks? Then, the next day, taking a leisurely boat ride to the most famous luxurious seaside resort and hiking along the sea while the Mediterranean breeze softly whispers... Oh yes, Cinque Terre, Portofino, and Sirmione are waiting for us, to celebrate Valentine's Day and enjoy the holiday in the best way possible.

PROGRAM DETAILS

March 06–07, 2025
BELGRADE – NOVI SAD – CINQUE TERRE (Hiking from village to village)

• ROUTE LENGTH: 9–14 km
• ELEVATION GAIN: 600–900 m
• DIFFICULTY: Medium

Departure from Belgrade and Novi Sad on February 14 in the afternoon (exact time and location will be provided a few days before departure). We'll have a relaxed drive to Italy.

In the early morning, we arrive in the small town of Levanto, where we’ll purchase daily train tickets and begin exploring the most picturesque Italian villages.

The plan is to take a train to the farthest and colorful Riomaggiore and, after a morning coffee break, hike through the surrounding mountains to visit all five gems known as Cinque Terre. We'll hike with constant sea views, through pine forests and vineyards. Depending on the weather and how much fun we’re having, we can shorten the trail and cover a section by train if we choose. All in all, a day for indulgence in Italian style!

After the hike, a short drive to our accommodation follows, and overnight stay.

SANTA MARGHERITA – BOAT TO PORTOFINO – SAN FRUTTUOSO MONASTERY – CAMOGLI (Optional)

• ELEVATION GAIN: 600 m
• DIFFICULTY: Medium

After breakfast, we’ll take a short drive to the small town of Santa Margherita, followed by a boat ride to the famous Portofino.

This resort is so beautiful that Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio, and many other global stars often choose it as their vacation spot. What people don’t know is that Portofino is surrounded by stunning pine forests and dramatic cliffs. After a morning break, we’ll embark on an incredible hike, starting at the secluded San Fruttuoso Monastery, nestled in a peaceful bay, and inaccessible by road.

We’ll then continue through the forest, following the laurel-scented trail along the sea toward the famous resort of Camogli, where our bus will be waiting to conclude the hike. We’ll return to the hotel for rest.

March 09–10, 2025
VISIT TO SIRMIONE – NOVI SAD – BELGRADE

Early in the morning, we’ll pack and head back by bus.

After a few hours of driving, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the famous Sirmione, a small town on the shores of Italy's largest lake. It’s known for its narrow medieval streets, a unique fortress that juts out into the lake, and perhaps the best gelato in Italy. Free time to enjoy gelato by the lake and find the perfect fridge magnet...

We’ll then return to Serbia at a leisurely pace to ensure everyone gets home in time for work.

WHAT TO PACK FOR HIKING?

• A smile, good spirits, and good health.
• Plenty of water (at least 2L per hike), snacks for multiple meals, and refreshments for the climbs and walks.
• Comfortable, sturdy footwear for hiking and comfortable clothing.
• If you have a favorite walking stick, bring it; if not, nature always provides new favorites.
• Hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen—whatever you think will protect you from the sun.
• Raincoat, spare clothes, warm and dry outfits within easy reach for after each hike.

IMPORTANT NOTES!

• Registration is limited, and only members of the HTS Mountaineering Society (ID: 28748817) or other societies within the PSS network can participate. (Contact us for membership and details about 2025 stickers).
• The participation fee is 12,300 RSD (for accommodation, payable to the association upon registration) and €70 (paid during the trip for transport, parking, tolls).
• The fee does not include daily train tickets for Cinque Terre (€14.80) or a city tax (€1 per person per day).
• The Portofino-Camogli excursion is optional and costs €30 per person (includes bus transport, boat ride, hike, and parking).
• The organizers reserve the right to change the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, lack of access to certain routes, or even cancel the trip.
• When registering, please send the number of participants, their names, phone numbers, and the departure location along with proof of membership. Due to the proximity of the event, it won’t be possible to cancel and get a refund, but participant substitutions will be allowed.
• The trip does not include travel guarantees as per Article 86, Paragraph 3 of the Tourism Act.
• This tour is not recommended for people with heart conditions or any health issues that could be negatively affected by physical activity.
• Please be punctual regarding departure times but flexible about the duration of hikes.
