WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?
A sunny and warm weekend is ahead, and with it, possibly the most exciting kids’ hike yet! We’ll start from the village of Dumbovo, following a beautiful forest trail that crosses Dumbovački Creek several times along the way. When we reach the waterfall, we’ll forget about everything else and simply enjoy this perfect natural creation—one of the greatest gems Fruška Gora has to offer.
P.S. We decided to make this hike even more special by teaming up with the Nature Lovers group, following their interesting forest diary along the way!
WHEN DO WE START?
Meeting and departure: in the village of Dumbovo, at the improvised chapel and cross, on Saturday, December 20th at 9:30 AM
Exact starting point coordinates:

After turning off the main road toward Dumbovo, do not follow navigation—just follow our instructions to reach the starting point.
There is limited parking at and near the starting point. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to find a suitable parking spot nearby and possibly walk to the starting point.
WHAT WILL WE VISIT?
DUMBOVO – DUMBOVAČKI CREEK – DUMBOVAČKI WATERFALL – DUMBOVAČKI CREEK – DUMBOVO
HIKE PROGRAM
We start at the improvised chapel and cross, initially on a vehicle path, but soon move onto a gravel trail that leads into the forest. Once we meet Dumbovački Creek, we will follow its upstream course through rolling terrain, taking us deeper into the forest.
The creek will occasionally block our path, so we’ll cross it bravely, often using stones as makeshift stepping stones. Step by step, we reach a small Fruška Gora natural wonder: Dumbovački Waterfall, which may have a substantial flow at this time of year. The hike from the starting point to the waterfall is about 3.3 km.
We’ll take a break at the waterfall, the length depending on how long it takes us to tear our eyes away from the scenery. After the break, it’s roughly 3.3 km back along the same trail, across the rolling terrain and creek crossings, to the starting point.
HOW LONG DOES THE HIKE LAST?
Total planned distance is approximately 6.6 km. The hike will take about 4 hours, including short stops along the way and a longer pause at the waterfall.
The trail is not difficult, making it suitable for adults new to hiking and for beginners.
