WHEN DO WE START?

MEETING AND DEPARTURE FROM ROHALJ BAZE PICNIC AREA

SUNDAY, 22.02 AT 10:00 AM

EXACT STARTING LOCATION:

Rohalj baze Picnic Area

WALKING PROGRAM

Distance: 16 km

Difficulty: Easy

Duration: 5–6 hours

We begin our walk at the well-known Rohalj baze monument, a site famous as one of the largest Partisan strongholds in this region. After a short introduction, we set off along a forest trail that gently descends through a dense, mystical woodland.

Along the way, our main landmark will be the dry riverbed of Jankov Stream, guiding us toward the beautiful Jankov Valley.

Here, we leave the stream behind and continue through an equally enchanting forest, following a mild uphill path that gradually leads us out of the woods and onto the magical Kišelez Meadows. It is said that this area hosts some of the richest plant diversity on Fruška Gora. Somewhere nearby, the famous Fruška Gora saffron was discovered.

At first glance, these meadows resemble a smaller version of the well-known Zagajička brda and irresistibly remind visitors of the iconic Windows XP wallpaper landscape.

Soon after, we reach the Partisan Road, which we follow back to our starting point.

HOW TO REACH THE STARTING POINT?

•By your own transport: From Novi Sad, pass through Sremska Kamenica and continue straight until you pass Banoštor. Then turn left toward Ležimir up to the ridge of Fruška Gora, and turn right onto the Partisan Road. After a few minutes, you will arrive at Rohalj baze picnic area.

•For those without transportation, or those willing to share a ride and split fuel costs, you can search on Facebook for our group “Hajd na hajk,” created to help nature lovers organize hiking trips more easily.

WHAT DO WE USUALLY BRING ON A HIKE?

•A smile, good spirit, and good health. Masks and gloves are not required in nature, as we will maintain recommended distancing.

•At least 1 liter of water (usually more).
