WHAT WILL WE VISIT?

BEOČIN MONASTERY – RIM SPRING – DUMBOVAČKI WATERFALL – BRANKOVAC – BEOČIN MONASTERY

WHEN DO WE START?

Meeting and departure at Beočin Monastery on Saturday, December 20th at 09:00 AM

WHAT IS THE HIKE PROGRAM?

We start our hike at Beočin Monastery, passing through a miniature version of a Versailles garden, created by the French and later maintained by them.

The trail gently ascends on a gravel road toward Rim Spring, which is about 2.5 km from the monastery.

After a short break, we continue another 1.5 km toward Dumbovački Waterfall. The path is partly a gravel road and then leads into the forest, where a rather steep and long downhill awaits. We will cross the Dumbovački stream a few times on our way to the waterfall.

At the waterfall, we’ll enjoy the sound of the flowing stream. The trail then continues with improvised ladders on the rock, following the stream, and ascending a steep slope that leads to the Partisan Trail. From there, we proceed to Brankovac, where we’ll take a short break to enjoy a beautiful view after another 2.5 km. Then we head back to the monastery.

After a short pause, we descend along Kozarski Creek back to Beočin Monastery, covering approximately 3 km mostly downhill to return to the starting point.

HOW LONG DOES THE HIKE LAST?

  • The total planned route is 9.5 km, which will take around 4–5 hours, including several short breaks.

HOW TO GET TO THE STARTING POINT?

  • By public transport: Bus number 78 departs from the main bus station at 8:20 AM, traveling along Bulevar Oslobođenja to Most Slobode, then through Sremska Kamenica and Rakovac. After getting off at the last stop in Beočin, there’s about 1.5 km walk to the monastery.

  • By car from Novi Sad: After crossing Most Slobode, continue through Sremska Kamenica, Rakovac, and the new part of Beočin. Turn left toward Stari Beočin, then go straight to the monastery.
