WHAT ARE WE PLANNING?

After many long, inspiring walks that we have organized here and there, it's time to return to our roots, and our roots lead from Fruška Gora, the Rakovac region, the place where it all began with our first walk. We haven't passed through this wonderful area, framed by the Rakovac Monastery, Beli Majdan, and the stone hermitage, the only one in the territory of Vojvodina, for a long time. Let's walk the paths of the hermits, which monks have treaded reverently before us, and we do it boldly, exclusively with a smile, through happiness...

WHAT IS THE WALK PROGRAM?

At the beginning of the route, we expect about 450 meters of constant ascent to our first attraction - the Beli Majdan quarry. There, we will take our first break to refresh ourselves and hear something about the almost thousand-year history of this place. After that, we have about a 2 km long stretch, with the first third of the path being a constant uphill climb, and the remaining two thirds involve an easy walk to one of the most secluded gems of Fruška Gora - the HERMITAGE OF SAINT GEORGE, carved into the rock. One of the specific features of this site is the numerous inscriptions in Old Slavic left by local monks after their stay in the hermitage over several centuries. From the hermitage, we have about 1.7 kilometers of walking through the monastery vineyards, back to the Rakovac Monastery.

HOW LONG DOES THE WALK TAKE?

The length of the projected route is about 5 km. To complete the entire route, it will take about 3 hours of walking, including several short breaks, making this route excellent for beginners and recreational hikers.

HOW TO GET TO THE STARTING POINT?

• If you are coming by your own transport from Novi Sad, after crossing the Most slobode (Freedom Bridge), at the first exit, turn right, after which you reach a traffic light where you continue straight and follow the road until you see a sign indicating the left turn to Rakovac. After that turn, you have a few more minutes of driving to the monastery, which will appear on your left, and the parking is right in front of the gate.

WHAT DO WE USUALLY BRING FOR HIKING?

• Smile, good mood, as well as good health; masks and gloves are not mandatory in nature, given that we will respect the recommended distance.
• Minimum 1 liter of water, and usually more.
• Comfortable and sturdy walking shoes.
• Snacks, sandwiches, fruit, lunch—whatever you desire is allowed on our walks without any guilt.
• If you already have your favorite walking stick, bring it, and if not, nature may hide your new favorite.
• Hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen—whatever you consider appropriate.
• Spare/change of clothes, warm and dry change.

IMPORTANT NOTES!!!

• The number of registrations will be limited this time, so please write to us privately the number of people you want to register if you want to join us on the walk.
• The tour is NOT PAID at the time of registration; it is on a voluntary basis. At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to reward our guides with DONATIONS in the amount you think this tour is worth.
• WEATHER CONDITIONS generally do NOT AFFECT our walks, unless there is a severe storm announced. It is up to you to assess whether the weather conditions suit you or not.
• The tour is STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED for people with heart or any other conditions that physical activity can negatively impact.
• Please be PRECISE AND PUNCTUAL when it comes to the departure time, but on the other hand, do not strictly adhere to the duration schedule of the walk, as we do not know in advance the structure of the group.
