Kovej Viewpoint & Lazarev Canyon

We are heading out to see Serbia’s largest canyon and admire it from one of its most beautiful viewpoints! If the cave is open, we will also take the opportunity to explore the deepest cave in Serbia.

TRIP PROGRAM

NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – LAZAREV CANYON
(Hike to Kovej Viewpoint)

• HIKING DISTANCE: 10 km
• ELEVATION GAIN: 400 m
• DIFFICULTY: MODERATE

Departure on October 18, 2026, from Novi Sad (ATP Vojvodina bus station at around 4:00 AM), followed by a stop in Belgrade (near the Sava Center at approximately 5:15 AM).

The exact departure time and meeting point will be confirmed one day before the trip.

We continue towards Zlot, with rest stops along the way.

In the early morning hours, we will arrive at Lazareva Cave, from where we begin our exploration of Lazarev Canyon.

One of Serbia’s most hidden and breathtaking natural attractions, unfairly overlooked and quietly tucked away, Lazarev Canyon has remained a well-kept secret. Still largely unexplored from the inside, mysterious and almost inaccessible, it is perhaps the closest thing Serbia has to a true jungle.

Our hike begins by entering the canyon near Lazareva Cave. We then climb towards one of the many viewpoints — and, according to many, the most beautiful one: KOVEJ.

At the viewpoint, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view, with the possibility of having lunch at a nearby restaurant.

After a well-deserved break and refreshments, we return to our starting point.

Once the hike is completed, we begin our relaxed journey back to Belgrade and Novi Sad.

PRICE

• 5,500 RSD – departure from Novi Sad
• 4,500 RSD – departure from Belgrade

Children up to 14 years old receive a 10% discount.

THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Lazarev Canyon entrance fee: 150 RSD per person
• Travel health insurance with coverage of up to €30,000
  Travel health insurance is recommended when traveling abroad for your safety and peace of mind.
• Personal expenses and services not specifically mentioned in the program

PAYMENT:

Payment is made via bank transfer, with 100% payment required at the time of booking.

WHAT SHOULD WE USUALLY BRING FOR HIKING?

• A smile, good spirits, and good health.
• Plenty of water — a minimum of 2 liters per hike — as well as snacks from your backpack for several meals and refreshments for the climbs and walks ahead.
• Comfortable, sturdy and appropriate footwear for walking in nature, as well as comfortable clothing.
• If you already have your favorite hiking stick/pole, bring it along. If not, nature may be where you discover your new favorite one.
• A cap/hat/beanie, sunglasses, sunscreen — whatever you consider necessary to protect yourself in case of strong sunlight.
• A rain jacket, spare/change of clothes, and a warm, dry set of clothes kept easily accessible after each hike.

IMPORTANT NOTES!!!

• The number of registrations will be limited, and ONLY members of the HIKING ASSOCIATION HTS (Company Registration No. 28748817) or members of any hiking association affiliated with the Mountaineering Association of Serbia (PSS) are eligible to participate in the trip. Please contact us for details regarding membership and the purchase of membership badges/stamps for 2026.
• The organizers reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, inability to access certain sections of the route, or even to cancel the trip.
• This trip is NOT covered by travel guarantees, pursuant to Article 86, Paragraph 3 of the Tourism Law.
• When registering, please provide the number of participants, their names, telephone numbers, and departure location, together with confirmation of membership in our organization. After registration and payment, due to the proximity of the event, cancellation of the transportation will no longer be possible and, consequently, a refund cannot be provided. However, it will be possible to arrange a potential replacement of the registered participant.
• This tour is NOT RECOMMENDED for people with heart conditions or any other medical conditions that could be adversely affected by physical activity.
• Please be PRECISE AND PUNCTUAL regarding the departure time. At the same time, please understand that the planned duration of the hike is approximate and should not be treated as a strict schedule.

THE PROGRAM IS BASED ON A MINIMUM OF 50 PARTICIPANTS.

In the event that there are not enough participants, the deadline for cancellation of the trip is seven days before the start of the trip, pursuant to Article 108 of the Consumer Protection Act.

The agency reserves the right to organize the transportation with a price adjustment or in cooperation with another agency.

The agency reserves the right to adjust prices in the event of changes in the foreign exchange market.

The agency shall not be liable for any different verbal information provided regarding the travel program.

The organizer reserves the right to change the order of individual activities included in the program.

The General Terms and Conditions of Travel of the organizing travel agency apply to this program.

These Special Notes form an integral part of the travel program.

SPECIAL NOTES

• The agency recommends that travelers purchase individual trip cancellation insurance. Otherwise, in the event of cancellation by the traveler, the provisions of the General Terms and Conditions of Travel — Section 10, Traveler's Cancellation of the Trip — shall apply exclusively.
• Seating arrangements on the bus are determined according to the date of payment, i.e. the date on which the Travel Agreement is concluded. When preparing the seating arrangement, consideration is given to elderly passengers, pregnant women, families with children (up to 12 years old), passengers with documented health conditions, etc. The first row of seats is reserved for official/service use and is not assigned to passengers unless necessary. Passengers are required to accept the seat assigned to them by the agency.
• When signing the Travel Agreement, the traveler is required to provide the travel organizer with all requested information, including the number of the travel document used to cross the border. If the requested information is not provided when signing the agreement, it must be submitted within 48 hours.
• For travelers holding a red biometric passport of the Republic of Serbia, the passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date of return from the trip for entry into the EU, and at least 6 months after the date of return for entry into the Republic of Turkey.
• Travelers are kindly requested to check the validity of their travel documents, especially those of children.
• The travel organizer is not authorized to assess the validity of travel or other documents. Travelers who are not Serbian citizens are responsible for informing themselves about the visa requirements of the countries they are traveling to. Travelers are advised to obtain information regarding entry requirements for EU countries (required financial means for the duration of stay, health insurance, proof of accommodation, etc.) from the website of the EU Delegation in Serbia, the relevant embassy or consulate of the country they are traveling to or through. The agency shall not be liable if border authorities prevent a traveler from entering the territory of the EU.
• If travelers pay an additional fee for an extra seat on the bus, they are not entitled to a refund after the trip if there are still unoccupied seats on the bus.
• 48 hours before departure, the travel organizer will send a notification containing all departure details. If you do not receive the message, please contact the agency to obtain accurate information regarding the departure.
• Stops for breaks during the journey are planned approximately every 3.5 to 4 hours of driving, at roadside rest areas, depending on available capacity and road conditions.
• Travelers are requested to take care of their travel documents, money and personal belongings throughout the trip. Leaving valuables on the bus or in hotel rooms is not recommended, as neither the carrier nor the hotel is responsible for them. In the event of a break-in of the bus, the traveler may request compensation only for insured belongings from authorized insurance companies. The travel organizer cannot be held responsible in such unforeseen circumstances, nor can complaints regarding such circumstances be submitted to the organizer.
• Please note that this is a group trip, and all arrangements are adapted accordingly. Therefore, passengers should understand that the vehicle, music and films played during the journey are intended to be neutral in content. The temperature in the vehicle cannot be individually adjusted for each seat, and what feels warm to one person may feel cold to another. Group travel therefore requires mutual understanding and a sense of collective responsibility among passengers.
• Luggage space on the bus is limited. The permitted amount of luggage per passenger is one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage.
• Travelers are advised that, due to the need to adhere to the scheduled itinerary, it is not possible to stop the bus at border crossings to process tax-free refunds. Please take this into consideration.
• The travel organizer reserves the right to modify the travel program due to unforeseen objective circumstances (e.g. border congestion, traffic congestion, closure of a site included in the itinerary, etc.).
• The travel and excursion organizer reserves the right to change the dates and conditions of optional excursions included in the program, as well as the order of sightseeing, due to objective circumstances. Please be aware that, due to national or religious holidays at the destination, certain sites, shopping centers, stores, restaurants, museums, etc. may not be open.
• The duration of free time for individual activities during the travel program depends on objective circumstances (e.g. duration of sightseeing, departure times, arrival times and the subsequent schedule of the arrangement).
• Travelers whose main purpose is to visit museums and galleries are advised to check their opening hours online and arrange their visits according to the available free time during the trip.
• The hotel category stated in the program is the officially established category valid on the date the agreement between the travel organizer and the foreign partner is concluded. Any subsequent changes unknown to the travel organizer cannot be considered relevant.
• All times stated in the travel programs are given according to the local time of the country in which the traveler is staying.
• The signatory of the Travel Agreement or representatives of the group of travelers are required to inform all travelers about the agreed travel program, payment and insurance conditions, as well as the General Terms and Conditions of Travel of the travel organizer.
• Minor travelers must carry a notarized parental/guardian consent when traveling.
• International travel health insurance is mandatory for certain destinations. We strongly recommend having such insurance for all your trips, as otherwise you assume full responsibility for any consequences during checks by the authorities of the country you are entering, as well as the countries you are traveling through.
• The agency shall not be responsible for information provided verbally, by telephone or electronically. Only the written travel program displayed at the agency's premises is considered valid.
• The organizer reserves the right to offer its arrangements through Last Minute offers at prices different from those listed in the price list. Customers who have already started paying for or have paid for an arrangement at the prices published in this price list are not entitled to claim compensation for any subsequent price difference.
