ONE-DAY TRIP – STARRY BALCONY

This time we’ve prepared something truly unique! We’ll take a scenic journey through the Austrian Alps, with the central highlight of our visit being the magical Lake Millstätter. We’ll hike to the Sternen (Starry) Balcony, offering breathtaking views of the lake and the Alpine peaks.

Travel Program:

NOVI SAD – BELGRADE – DOBRIACH – LAKE MILLSTÄTTER – STERNEN BALCONY

• Route length: 12 km
• Elevation gain: 600 m
• Difficulty: Moderate

Departure on 21.02.2026 from Novi Sad (ATP Vojvodina location around midnight, Friday to Saturday), with continuation toward Belgrade (near the Sava Center around 1:15 a.m.).
(Exact time and meeting point will be sent one day prior to departure.)

We continue with a relaxed drive toward Austria, including breaks for group rest and border procedures.

In the early morning hours, we arrive in the town of Dobriach, located in the valley right on the shores of the lake. During the hike through the surrounding forests, we plan to visit several spectacular viewpoints overlooking Lake Millstätter and the mountains that surround it.

The first and most famous viewpoint is the Sternen (Starry) Balcony, featuring a beautiful viewing platform designed for maximum enjoyment. After that, we continue uphill to another viewpoint, then complete a circular route and gradually descend back to the starting point.

After finishing the hike, there will be a break for lunch and relaxation by the lake. This will be followed by the return journey to the departure point around midnight, depending on road and border conditions.

• Travel health insurance with coverage up to 30,000 EUR
  (Travel health insurance is strongly recommended for international travel for your safety.)

WHAT TO BRING FOR HIKING?

• A smile, good spirit, and good health
• Plenty of water (at least 2L for the hike), snacks for multiple meals, energy boosters for the climbs and walks ahead
• Comfortable, sturdy footwear suitable for hiking, as well as comfortable clothing
• If you have a favorite hiking stick, bring it! If not, nature will provide you with a new favorite
• Cap/hat/beanie, sunglasses, sunscreen—whatever you need to protect yourself in case of strong sun
• Raincoat, spare/dry clothes, warm and dry layers within reach after each hike

IMPORTANT NOTES!!!

• The number of participants is limited, and only members of the HIKING CLUB HTS (MB: 28748817) or any other hiking club under the PSS (Mountaineering Association of Serbia) are eligible for this trip. (Contact us for membership details and 2026 membership sticker purchase.)
• Organizers reserve the right to change the itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances, lack of access to certain sections, or even cancel the trip.
• This trip does NOT include guarantees in accordance with Article 86, Paragraph 3 of the Tourism Act.
• When registering, please send us the number of participants, their names, phone numbers, departure location, and proof of membership in our organization. Due to the event's proximity, cancellations will not be possible, and thus refunds will not be issued. However, replacing a registered participant will be allowed.
• This tour is NOT RECOMMENDED for people with heart conditions or any health issues that could be negatively affected by physical activity.
• Please be PUNCTUAL regarding departure times, but flexible with the hiking schedule.
• We ask all participants to bring ONLY POSITIVE VIBES, GOOD SPIRITS, AND A CHEERFUL ATTITUDE. See you there!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• The program is based on a minimum of 50 participants.
• If the required number of participants is not met, the trip may be canceled seven days before departure in accordance with Article 108 of the Consumer Protection Act.
• The agency reserves the right to adjust transportation prices if necessary or collaborate with another agency for transport services.
• The agency is not responsible for any different verbal information regarding the itinerary.
• The organizer reserves the right to change the order of certain activities within the itinerary.

SPECIAL NOTES

• Travelers are encouraged to purchase individual trip cancellation insurance, as standard cancellation policies apply.
• Seating arrangements in the bus are determined based on the payment date. Special priority is given to elderly passengers, pregnant women, families with children (under 12), and those with documented health issues. The first row of seats is reserved for staff and will not be available unless necessary.
• Passports must be valid for at least three months after the return date for travel within the EU (six months for Turkey).
• The agency does not assess the validity of travel documents; non-Serbian citizens must check visa requirements themselves.
• Luggage space on the bus is limited to one suitcase and one carry-on per person.
• Lost or stolen items are the responsibility of the traveler; valuables should not be left in the bus or hotel rooms.
• Group travel requires cooperation and mutual understanding. Bus temperature, music, and films will be neutral to accommodate everyone.
• The agency reserves the right to sell last-minute packages at different prices, and previously booked travelers are not entitled to compensation for price differences.
